WELCOME TO THE W.O. MITCHELL SCHOOL COUNCIL WEBSITE!
We are proud to support our students and our community
The W.O. Mitchell School Council is a group of parents and staff who work together to support a positive learning experience for all students, best positioning them for success. The Council accomplishes this through a variety of means, including:
• facilitating communication among parents, school administration and the immediate community;
• researching and advising the school administration and the Board on matters impacting student achievement at WO Mitchell as required; and
• organizing community building and fundraising events to enhance the student experience.
The Council is made up of a combination of parents of children enrolled in the school, the school principals, school staff and interested community members. Council members have the unique opportunity of making a direct contribution to improving student life at W.O. Mitchell. Council meetings are open to anyone who is interested in listening to the proceedings, and meeting minutes and pertinent documents are also posted online on the Minutes and Meeting Documents page.
The authority of the School Council is derived from the Ontario Education Act. The School Council Regulation outlines the Council’s areas of authority and accountability.
